You Follow Constitution, Not Me: President

Issue 46, November 15, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On November 13, 2009, speaking at the function of opening an eye hospital in eastern Nepal, ceremonial President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has called on all to follow the constitution and to sort out the political problems at the legislature based on the consensus politics. The President has not been ashamed of talking such things possibly still believing that he has not overstep the constitution directly writing a letter to the army chief following the advice of the unprincipled leaders of the eighteen political parties.

At the same time, President of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala has called on the Maoists for talks but rigidly sticking to his undemocratic principles of not discussing the President’s unconstitutional move on directly writing a letter to the army chief.

On November 14, 2009, Girija Prasad Koirala is flying off to Singapore on an air ambulance provided by the Singapore government for treatment. He has a problem of breathing because of the low oxygen content in his blood.
