Prime Minister Koirala Resigned

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala submitted his resignation to the Constituent Assembly while speaking to the members of the Constituent Assembly on June 26, 2008 thus paving the way for the newly emerged political parties to form a new government. He was emotional when he announced his resignation. Prime Minister Koirala said that he was for the unity of all political parties; however, the current situation was all of the political parties were in confusion; and the international community was also in confusion.
