Shree Panchami Celebrated In Nepal

February 15, 2013: Head of State President Dr Ram Baran Yadav along with other dignitaries listened to the advent of the spring season recitation at the Nasalchowk of the Hanumandhoka Durbar in Kathmandu today morning, and the President received the blessings from the deity.
Pandits such as Dinanath Aryal and Bishnu Prasad Khanal cited the Basanta Panchami recitals following the Vedic rituals. After the completion of the recitals, they offered blessings from the deity to President Dr Yadav, and other dignitaries.
On the occasion, various team of musicians played the malashree tunes. A contingent of Nepal Army presented a guard of honor to President Dr Yadav, according to the RSS. This is an age-old tradition Nepalis have followed.
Artisans, students, and teachers visited the shrines to Learning Goddess called Sarasvoti in Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees visited the shrine to Manjushree for Buddhists, and Sarasvoti to Hindus at the Svoyambhu hill today. Similarly, devotees visited the Shrines of Nil Sarasvoti at Lazimpat in Kathmandu, and another Sarasvoti in Lele in Lalitp[ur.
Today is the most auspicious day for the new learners to learn alphabets. So, parents take the children to start off learning alphabets to the shrines to the Learning Goddess. Parents help the children to write alphabets at the walls of the shrines to Learning Goddess today.
