President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Busy With Meetings

December 26, 2012: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav currently in India on the five-day official visit held talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukharjee at the Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi today. President Dr Yadav extended a formal invitation to the Indian President for visit to Nepal. Indian President Mukherjee thanked President Dr Yadav for the invitation, and expressed his willingness to visit Nepal at a convenient time.

Earlier, Minister for External Affairs of India Salman Khursid called on President Dr Yadav at the Oberoi Hotel and during the meeting the Indian minister offered the support of the Indian government for the political transformation going on in Nepal.

President Dr Yadav also had separate meetings at the Oberai hotel suite with Chairwoman of Congress Party Sonia Gandhi, general secretary of Indian Nationalist Congress D.P Tripathi, CPI (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yachuri and Congress (I) general secretary Janardan Dwibedi, according to the nepalnews.com.

After receiving the honorary doctorate from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, President Dr Yadav flew to New Delhi yesterday. Chancellor of BHU and President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations Karan Singh conferred the honorary degree: Doctor of Law (LLD) on President Dr Yadav at a special convocation of the BHU in Varanasi yesterday.
