Issue 46, November 14, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

November 08, 2010: leaders of NC have not listened to the various alternatives proposed by the leaders of UCPN-Maoist for forming a new government at the two-day (Friday and Saturday) meeting of the leaders of the three major parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML obviously held for breaking the current political deadlock, and NC leaders have stuck to their stance on not pulling out their single candidate in the race of the office of Prime Minister until the UCPN-Maoist leaders commit to honor all the previous agreements. As a result, the never-ending election to a Prime Minister will be held endlessly thanks to the leaders of NC.

However, Speaking at a function held by Janasanchar Abhiyan in Kathmandu today, Standing Committee Member of UCPN-Maoist Dev Gurung has said that the meeting of the top leaders of major political parties held at the Hattiban resort during the Tihar festival has paved a way for building understanding among themselves in the coming days; Gurung has said that some of NC and CPN-UML leaders have given priority to the task of integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants setting aside the immediate concern of forming a new government, making it hard to build a consensus during the two-day talks, some other leaders of the UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML have put emphasis on a "package solution" building a consensus among the major parties and forming a new government, the nepalnews.com writes.
