By KTM Reporter in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, February 29, Daughter of suspended King Gyanendra, princess Prerana is going to lose millions of rupees worth of shares in the Nabil Bank and the Nepal Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC). The palace had transferred 47,700 shares in the Nabil Bank and 6,750 shares in the NIDC from the names of the then-crown prince Birendra and his brother Nirajan to princess Prerana after their massacre on June 1, 2001 according to the Kantipur Report of February 26, 2008. The Government of Nepal formed a Nepal Trust to ascertain the assets owned by king Birendra and his family members, and use those assets for the welfare of the Nepalese people. The Trust has documented those shares and asked the government to transfer those shares to its name.
