Chairman Prachanda In Singapore

On November 16, 2009, Chairman of United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) Prachanda flew off to Singapore ostensibly for training the party cadres but surely meeting with the ailing Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala for talking to end the current political deadlock in Nepal.

Before flying off to Bangkok on the Thai Airways speaking to the reporters at the International Airport in Kathmandu, Chairman Prachanda has said that he is flying to Singapore for a three-day visit to train the cadres but he will also meet with Koirala undergoing the medical treatment there.

According to the news report by a Nepalese newspaper, an Indian professor called Muni working at the Singaporean University has arranged a meeting of Prachanda with Koirala for talks to end the current political deadlock in Nepal. Professor Muni is the Nepal-specialist. He has done research on Nepalese politics.
