Judicial Council Will Investigate Complaints About Judges’ Performances

July 8, 2011: after attending the meeting of the Judicial Council, Minister for Law and Justice Prabhu Shah as an ex-officio member of the Judicial Council has said that in the meeting members of the Judicial Council have agreed on holding investigations into about 150 complaints about the performances of the judges working at the Appellate and District Courts registered at the Judicial Council; to this end, Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Nepal Khilraj Regme will appoint anyone of the two advocates or both from among senior advocate and member of Judicial Council Kehmnarayan Dhungana and another advocate and member of Judicial Council Upendrakeshari Neupane ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today writes.
Most of the complaints about the performances of judges have been that the judges have interpreted the laws wrongly in their rulings, they have not performed their jobs sincerely, they have low capability of performing their duties, and they have made rulings under pressure and influences.
