Para-military Forces Of Political Parties

Issue 24, June 13, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

June 13, 2010: Maoists have the YCL, the CPN-UML has the YAN, and now the NC is set to have "young force" of 900 cadre trained in defense arts to fight against both the YCL and the YAN. The Maoists have the YCL. Then, the CPN-UML has set up YAN primarily for fighting against the YCL. Now the three major parties have been spending their efforts and resources on the para-military build-up rather than their political images. So far, they have not cared about their political reputation doing nothing for the welfare of the people but making every possible attempt on staying on in the power. The current Madhav government has broken every past records of corruption, mismanagement, abuse of power and breaking the rule of law in every possible way but the political leaders have the least concerned about such things.

Thanks to Acting President of NC Sushil Koirala’s warning of taking strong actions against the leaders setting up a para-military organ of the NC, the so-called ‘young force’ of the NC did not see the light of the day on Sunday, June 13, 2010.
