Burning Vehicles And Breaching Election Codes Of Conduct

October 29, 2013: opening a media center at the Election Commission in Kathmandu yesterday, Chie Election Commissioner Nilkantha Uprety said that anybody breaching the election codes of conduct would be penalized; a few violence, and breach of the election codes of conduct have come to the notice of the EC, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

Chief Election Commissioner Uprety said that first, the EC would urge the people violating the election codes of conduct to correct their behavior, then warn them of taking actions, and finally, the EC would take the actions against them.

 

NC leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has taken refuge at the police station at the Bidur administrative headquarters of the Nuwakot district stating a group of YCL headed by Rajan Gautam attacked his party at the constituency number two at the midnight on Sunday while his party and he were sleeping while they were there for the election campaign. Dr Mahat also demanded the police to take actions against the culprits otherwise his cadres would retaliate them, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

Unidentified people coming in a motorbike have set fire on the vehicle of President of NC Sushil Koirala parked at the party office in Nepalgunj yesterday. Secretary to the Banke district CPN-Maoist Navin Sharma denied of his cadres setting fire on the vehicle. He also said that his party started off the internal investigation into the incident, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

Three men coming in motorbikes have set fire on the vehicle used by another NC leaders and candidate Narahari Acharya in Kathmandu yesterday. The vehicle was parked at one place while Acharya was visiting the voters at their homes, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
