Issue 06, February 7, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On January 31, 2010, speaking at the function of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the state-run Nepal TV, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has called on the leaders of political parties and civil society, scholars, and the public in general to work sincerely for timely promulgation of a new constitution forgetting he has caused the current political deadlock violating the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 for saving the job of the army chief. He needs to resign to pave someone sincere to lead the country rather than advising others to work sincerely or writing a new constitution and promulgating it in time. President Yadav is solely responsible for abusing the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 and is continuing on the highest elected position in the country not only shaming on himself but also on the country. He has called on all to institutionalized the changes brought by the Peoples’ Movement while he has gone off the basic values and principles of democracy violating the constitution. Mr. President has made it possible to be the man defeated in two constituencies a Prime Minister making the mockery of democracy. The President has not followed the rule of law that he wants others to follow.
