Celebrating Ninety-seventh Birth Anniversary Of Supreme Leader Ganeshman Singh

Issue 46, November 11, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

November 5, 2012: the NC is holding a mass rally at Basantapur in Kathmandu to mark the 97th birth anniversary of Supreme Leader Ganeshman Singh on November 9, 2012. Ganeshman is the only one sincere leader publicly known. He has sacrificed everything for bringing democracy in Nepal. So, he is often dubbed as the father of democracy in Nepal.

Supreme Leader Ganeshman led all the political parties and Nepalis to reinstate the multi-party democratic system and tear down the despotic Panchayat system Mahendra introduced killing democracy in 1960. However, his own colleagues in the NC party disgraced Ganeshman for sincerity and blunt talking to them for protecting democracy and for avoiding corruption some of the NC leaders shamelessly introduced in the Nepalese administration.

Ganeshman did not take over the power instead gave the way to his colleague Krishna Prasad Bhattarai to run the administration in 1990 after tearing down the Panchayat system. Ganeshman remained alert to stop the NC leaders from indulging in corruption but failed in doing so. When death came to him, Ganeshman died as a frustrated supreme leader.
