Warning To Government Of Not Reviving Conflict Era Cases

August 22, 2013; speaking at an event held by the Young Communist League of the Nevah Rajya Committee in Kathmandu yesterday, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda warned the government of not reviving the conflict era cases through the regular State machinery as the conflict era cases are to be taken up by the Truth And Reconciliation Commission following the Comprehensive Peace Agreement the then CPN-Maoist and the government had signed off, and following the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007.

 

Responding to the protest fasting unto death by the parents of Krishna Prasad Adhikari killed in Chitwan, the government has set up a team to investigate the murder case in Chitwan. The parents of Adhikari have been demanding the immediate arrest of the murderer of their son.
