Nepal-China Business Agreement

September 14, 2010: Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) and China Council for Promotion of International Trade, Taizhou Sub-Council (CCPIT Taizhou) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Taijau of China on promoting Chinese investment in Nepal, fostering the economic and commercial relations between Nepalese and Chinese business entrepreneurs and boosting economical and trade relations between Nepal and China according to the THT Online and myrepublica.com news.

Chairman of NCCI Rajesh Kaji Shrestha on behalf of the NCCI and Chairman of CCPIT Taizhou Zhang Jiming on behalf of his organization have signed off the MoU at a function held in Taizhou, China according to the NCCI statement released in Kathmandu on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

After signing off the MoU, Chairman Shrestha has said that the two countries can jointly explore the business potential in various sectors including hydroelectricity, minerals, cement, herbs, medicine, banking, technology and tourism in Nepal; and the NCCI will help in creating an environment conducive to investment for the parties interested in investing in Nepal.

In turn, Chairman Zhang has said that the understanding between the two business organizations will help in promoting Chinese investment in Nepal, and also strengthens the ties between the two organizations.
