Nepal Stops Border-Area Nepalis From Going To Borders Town In Tibet

November 5, 2012: following the request from the Chinese officials for stopping Nepalis going to Tibetan border town Khasa from November 4 to 25, 2012 in view of the Eighteenth National Congress that would start on November 8 for electing a new set of leaders in China, the Nepalese administration has closed the border for about a month for the Nepalis having permits to visit Khasa.
Chinese officials have been very concern about the Tibetans staging protests against the Chinese rule in Tibet whenever such national events take place embarrassing the Chinese officials. So, the Chinese did not want to take any chance of letting any Tibetan protests either in Tibet or elsewhere in China.
Self-immolation of Tibetans in protest against the Chinese rule in Tibetan has been happening frequently causing great embarrassment to the Chinese rulers that have been blaming the Tibetan Religious Leader Dalai Lama for such self-immolation but the spiritual leader has denied the charges made by the Chinese rulers.
