Doctors Close their Business Across The Country

Issue 01, Janaury 3, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

From December 28, 2009 onward, Nepalese physician doctors’ association called Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has closed the businesses except for the emergency ward at all hospitals across the country for an indefinite period demanding the government to enforce the agreements they have reached with the government four months ago. In addition, they have been demanding the government to provide them with security as the incidents of the family members of the persons when they died without any faults of physicians have been attacking the doctors and demanding the compensation for the death of their family members.

The current government has been so incompetent that it has not met the demand of the staffs of the local governments on strike demanding the benefits other state employees have been enjoying and has let the trash form a hill at every corner in the towns of the Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, teachers of the higher secondary schools have closed the schools across the country demanding to enforce the agreements they have reached with the government.
