Returning Seized Properties To Rightful Owners

September 14, 2011: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has verbally instructed the concerned state agencies to supervise the return of the properties seized by the cadres of his party during the 10-year conflict with the state to the rightful owners, and vacate the public buildings or land if any the UCPN-Maoist has been using, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes the political advisor to the prime minister.
Prime Minister’s political advisor Devendra Poudel has said that the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction at the center and an all-party mechanism under the chief district officer at the local level would supervise the return of the properties to the rightful owners.
Mr. Poudel has claimed that the prime minister’s instructions to return the seized properties have been following the decision of the Standing Committee of his party; so, the local level party cadres would not oppose the return of seized properties.
