Chinese Ambassador’s Meeting With Different Personalities

June 29, 2011: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan has today called on Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda at his Nayabazar residence in Kathmandu. They have discussed bilateral cooperation between the two nations, and the ongoing peace process and the constitution writing in Nepal.
On June 26, 2011, Ministry of People’s Republic of China has said that Ambassador Yang Houlan and Secretary of Foreign Ministry Bhattarai had an in-depth exchange of views on promoting the Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation between the two countries. Both sides agreed on deepening Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation to serve the common interests of the two countries.
On June 27, 2011, Ambassador Yang Houlan met with Mahara, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Nepal. Mrs. Xi Hui, Political Counselor of Chinese Embassy also attended the meeting according to the Ministry of People’s Republic of China.
Ambassador Yang has said that the China-Nepal Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation has been gaining a good momentum. The contribution that the Home Ministry made to promote the cooperation in relevant fields has enriched the content of Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation of the two countries. The Chinese side will work with Nepal and constantly promote friendly cooperation.
Mr. Mahara has congratulated Ambassador Yang on assuming his office and said that China is Nepal's old friend. People of the two countries enjoy time-honored friendly exchanges. The Government of Nepal, political parties and the social communities have extensive understanding in friendly cooperation between Nepal and China. The Home Ministry will make positive efforts on deepening cooperation in relevant fields of the two countries, Ministry of People’s Republic of China reports.
On June 28, 2011, newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Yang Houlan has visited Bhaktapur Durbar Square at the invitation of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party to participate in a program to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of Communist Party of China (CPC), Telegraphnepal.com writes.
The Chinese ambassador has been meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister for Home Affairs and other political leaders to prevent the possibility of Tibetan protests against the Chinese rule in Tibet at the time of marking the 90th anniversary of the CPC on July 01, 2011 according to the Nepalese media reports.
