Cold War Between the Parties In Government And the Parties In Opposition

Issue 42, October 16, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 15, 2011: immediately after the parliament has elected the current Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, the leaders of the parties that have refused to have any positive dialogues with the leaders of the parties in power have started off the cold war hitting hard the four-point deal the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF has reached. When the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF leaders decided to stand firmly on the four-point deal they have reached, they have cooled down a bit.

Now, the same guys have intensified their cold war demanding the resignations of two ministers effectively diverting the attention from the main tasks of completing the peace process and the constitution writing. They have even started off obstructing the House session and have shamelessly declared that they would continue to block the House session until the Prime Minister fires the two ministers. Later, they even have said that they would even demand the resignation of the Prime Minister clearly demonstrating they are distracting the people from the main tasks of the completing the peace process and the constitution writing when the whole world and Nepalis have been worrying about the future of these two tasks.

UCPN-Maoist and UDMF are the two main political parties that have been instrumental to make Nepal a republic and to bring Nepal to the current status of political development in Nepal. So, they need to continue to compete the remaining work of completing the pace process and the constitution writing disregarding the negative contributions of other political parties to the main two tasks.
