Petition At UN For Search

February 13, 2012: A Swiss Agency for Impunity, Geneva, has filed a petition at the United Nations Human Rights Committee for searching Nepal’s human rights defenders Rajendra Dhakal and Padma Narayan Nakarmi, enforced-disappeared by the police personnel during the conflict, the state news agency called RSS reports.

The Agency also has requested the Government of Nepal for honoring their human rights giving information on the status of whether they are dead or alive to their family members.

The victims’ families have said that the police had arrested Dhakal on January 8, 1999 from Tanahu district and the Nepal Army made him enforced disappearance on September 23, 2003.

The petition stated that the police had taken under control Dhakal, whereas Nakarmi died while he was in the custody of the Bhairavnath Battalion of the then Royal Nepal Army.
