Outgoing Indian Ambassador’s Views

Addressing a press conference in Kathmandu on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 before returning to India after completion of his term of office, Indian Ambassador Shiva Shankhar Mukherjee said that his country would accept the Nepalese people’s verdict and supports the government of any party that comes to power through the election. He also said that the successful completion of the election for a Constituent Assembly would further strengthen the peace process in Nepal. On April 25, 2008, a senior Indian diplomat Rakesh Sood arrived at Kathmandu to take up the job vacated by Ambassador Mukherjee
