Launching A Campaign Of Making Aware Of RTI

December 28, 2013: the Far-west Media Development Center has launched a campaign to make the citizens aware of the right to information (RTI), according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

The centre has launched the campaign simultaneously at Attariya, and Chaukidanda of the Kailali district and Krishnapur, Jhalari, Daiji, and Mahendranagar of the Kanchanpur district yesterday.

 

Chairman of the Center Umid Bagchand said, "Good governance is possible only when the citizens are well aware of the right to information."

 

During the campaign, the campaigners provided the information about RTI, public information, and the role of the information in the public sector and the benefits of good governance to the public.

 

Chairman Bagchand said around 99 percent people were found ignorant of the RTI.
