By KTM Metro Reporter
July 13, 2011: speaking at a function held by the Nepal Thakur Samaj in Kathmandu yesterday, General Secretary of NC Prakash Man Singh has challenged anybody to submit a proposal for changing the parliamentary Party (PP) leader following the statute of the party otherwise the change in the PP leader will happen only if the PP leader resigns or dies or quit the office for some reasons according to the news posted on the online THT.
Mr. Singh has been replying to the so-called signature campaign started by the group headed by former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to change the PP leader Ram Chandra Poudel in a bid be the next prime minister. Mr. Deuba has been saying in public that a government of the national consensus is required to complete the peace process and the constitution writing. If need arises he could head such a government. However, he is not the PP leader. Following the NC statute, only the PP leader is eligible to be a prime minister.
Mr. Deuba has lost the election to the president of NC to Sushil Koirala but he stays on as a senior leader of the NC.
