Madheshi Leaders Continue Support for Government
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On Monday, September 7, 2009, leaders of Madheshi political parties such as Madheshi People’s Rights Forum-Democratic, Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party and Nepal Sadbhavana Party have stated that they would continue to support the current coalition government despite their concern over the government stripping Vice-president Permananda Jha off the salary and other benefits after the Vice-president refused to take the oath of office in Nepali, and ask the government to expedite the amendment to the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 to end the language issue according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of September 8, 2009.
These Madheshi leaders have been practical not fighting for the never-winning case of imposing the foreign language Hindi in the Nepalese official business, but supporting the current government of political parties that have been deadly against the issues the Madheshi people have fought and died for they have betrayed the Madheshi people.
