Talks Held Between Four-party Political Mechanism And FDF

July 23, 2013: the four-party political mechanism and the Federal Democratic Front (FDF) held bilateral talks at the Nayabanesvor office of the four-party political mechanism yesterday. Members of the FDF have made it clear that even though the elections to a new CA are the only way to end the current political crisis, they would not participate in the elections in the current state of affairs, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

Members of the FDF have repeated their demands for amending the 25-point Removal of Constitutional Hurdles Ordinance, for making 40 percent direct and 60 percent proportional representation to a new CA, and for the resignation of Khil Raj Regmi from the position of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal.

 

This is the first meeting both the parties have held. Participants in the meeting have encouraged by the amicable approach of both the parties. They hoped that they would make progress in the next meeting.
