Re-registering Voters In Nepal

August 18, 2013: The Election Commission (EC) has reopened the registration of voters on August 17, 2013 for a week to register the voters that have missed to register in the previous registration period. The last date of registration is August 23. The EC reopened the voter’s registration in all 75 districts.
According to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today, the maximum number of voters showed up in Kathmandu to register but none in the Manang district. About 2,000 voters registered in Kathmandu. Other districts also have some voters registering their names.
Puja Shah, Sitashma Shah and Dilasha Shah: daughters of former prince Dhirendra Shah registered their names at the voters' roll, Chief of Office Shambhu Chalise said, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
