Nepal-China Trade Festival In Kathmandu

November 3, 2011: Nepalese Minister for Labor and Transport Management Lekh Raj Bhatta and Executive vice-chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China Wu Yungile have jointly opened the 13th Nepal-China Tibet Economic and Trade Festival at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu yesterday.

Speaking at the function held to open the trade festival, Minister Bhatta has said that such a trade festival is beneficial to promoting trade and economic relations between Nepal and Tibet Autonomous Region of China, and has hoped that this festival boosts the export of Nepalese products to China and contributes to reduce the trade deficit with China.

Executive vice-chairman of TAR of China Wu Yingjie in turn has said that such a trade festival plays a significant role in developing bilateral trade and promoting economic growth and social progress, and strengthening the traditional friendship between China and Nepal.

Executive Deputy Chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China Wu Yingjie has made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai at his office yesterday afternoon.

Wu also has met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, and Minister for Local Development Top Bahadur Rayamajhi.

Wu has led the 19-member delegation to Nepal. The delegation also will ascertain the possible areas of investment in Nepal.
