UNMIN Writes To UCPN-Maoist Objecting PLA’s Participation In Maoists’ Convention

November 19, 2010: Chief of UNMIN Karin Landgren has written a letter to the Chairman of UCPN-Maoist stating participation of former combatants in the party’s political convention will be against the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the Agreement on the Monitoring of Management of Arms and Armies, Thehimalayantimes.com writes.
Speaking to the reporter, spokesperson for UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has said that following the decision made by the standing committee in the meeting held at the office of the party today, the combatants will not be at the plenum to be started in Gorkha on November 21; concerning the letter written by the Chief of UNMIN to the Chairman of UCPN-Maoist about the participation of combatants in the Maoists’ plenum, spokesperson Sharma has said that the matter will be discussed with UNMIN and the political parties, myrepublica.com writes.
