Bringing PLA Under the Command Of AISC

January 23, 2011: speaking at the function of bringing the members of People’s Liberation Army under the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) held at Shaktikhor in Chitwan on January 22, 2011, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the situation of one state and two armies will continue until the integration and rehabilitation of the PLA members complete, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 23, 2011 writes. Chairman Prachanda has appreciated the PLA for their sacrifice to make the revolution a success. "You all have been playing your role to make the peace process a success by remaining disciplined, patient and courageous," ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 23, 2011 quotes Prachanda.

Speaking at the same function, PLA deputy commander Nanda Kishor Pun Pasang has said that the chain of command of the PLA will continue to remain intact as before until the completion of the army integration. "I urge the state and the political parties to take the guardianship of the PLA with equal treatment," Pasang said hinting that the PLA should be taken at par with other security forces, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 23, 2011 writes.

Officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal in his turn has appreciated the contribution of the PLA to establish a republic in the country, and has assured them of the state leaving no stone unturned for appropriate management of the PLA on the basis of individual interest, capacity, ability, and mutual agreement; he has also said that the country and the people cannot sustain another conflict or violence; the government wants to complete the integration and rehabilitation of the PLA at the earliest, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 23, 2011 writes.
