August 24, 2010: Nepal Pavilion at the Global Exhibition of 2010 in Shanghai, China has a chance to be among the top ten pavilions, as it has been attracting more and more visitors because of its unique features; the exhibition has opened in April 2010 and will last until October this year; already about five million people have visited the Nepal Pavilion; ten million more people might visit it by the end of the exhibition; a team of experts from five countries will select the top ten pavilions based on the number of people visited; the Nepal pavilion titled as 'The Story of Kathmandu' has the theme of 'Beautiful City: Beautiful Life' depicting the 2,000-year old civilization and the urban development of the Kathmandu Valley; about 400 skilled Nepalese craftsmen have designed and worked on it for four years; the organizers have taken building materials including artistically carved wood and metal craft, stone sculptures and traditional bricks and tiles of more than 500 tons from Kathmandu to Shanghai; it has taken them one year for assembling those materials to a Nepal Pavilion in Shanghai, nepalnews.com reports quoting RSS: the state-run news agency.
