August 17, 2013: the government and the 33-party front held a second phase talks yesterday. Both parties stated they have held talks in a positive manner. How far they have been positive they have not stated.

Secretary of CPN-Maoist Dev Gurung has led the 33-party front for the talks with the government team. After the meeting with the government, Secretary Gurung said that the talks had been positive. The government team has taken the demands of the 33-party positively, so, Gurung hoped that the talks would end positively.

However, while talking to the reporters in eastern Nepal, General Secretary of CPN-Maoist Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal said that he has instructed his party cadres to prepare for disrupting the elections, as the talks have not been positive.

Talking to the anchor of the morning program called ‘antar-sambad’ of the Radio Nepal today morning, Vice-chairman of CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel hinted at his party boycotting the elections, as the election process was unconstitutional.
