CPN-UML Won’t Be a Ladder For Others

August 14, 2010: speaking at a function held by CPN-UML Kathmandu District Committee, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has said on Friday, August 13, 2010 that his party will not be a ladder for others to climb for garbing power; "The UML is an independent and dignified party and will not act as a ladder for any one to form the government," Khanal said; he has also said that the political leaders have ignored the peace process and constitution writing continuing the endless cycle of election to a Prime Minister making the Constituent Assembly useless leading it to its end; he also has said that the reality is the peace and constitution drafting process cannot be completed without consensus; "So, there is the need of full national unity among the parties," he said; concerning his party’s stance, he has said that the CPN-UML will stay neutral in the upcoming election to a Prime Minister scheduled for August 18; “his party will not participate in any majority government but it will help in drafting a new statute and concluding the peace process sitting in the opposition bench,” he said, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of August 14, 2010 reports.
