Investment Climate In Nepal Improving

Issue 17, April 22, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

April 20, 2012: the recent positive change in the political situation has created favorable climate conducive to investment in Nepal drawing potential investors. A team of five investors from Britain and the US are currently visiting Nepal to see what they can do here.

Briefing the visitors on the current mandates of the Investment Board, Chief Executive of Board Radhesh Pant has said that the Board will provide the investors with a one-window service; the Board is streamlining the Acts to produce an investment friendly environment, and is also working on the framework for incentives, and doing a comparative analysis of neighboring countries to offer investors a competitive package, ‘HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE’ reports on April 19, 2012.

“Now, Nepal has to think about how to attract investments as the investment climate is technically improving,” ‘HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE’ quotes British ambassador to Nepal John Tucknott, as saying while addressing the British and American investors in Kathmandu today. “It’s time to grow together into a new Nepal that provides opportunities to all,” said the ambassador, “Nepal can create lots of jobs and young people do not have to go overseas to send money back.”
