Enforce Recommendations On Extra-Judicial Killings Made By OHCHR

September 28, 2010: issuing a statement today, the heads of the European Union (EU) mission in Nepal, Norway and Switzerland have said that they have been concerned with the Government of Nepal not taking any actions on the serious human rights violations mentioned in the report titled 'Investigating Allegations of Extra-Judicial Killings in the Terai' released by the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on September 23, 2010, the nepalnews.com reports.

They have said in the statement that they are for supporting the efforts of the government and the concerned national institutions on strengthening public security, enforcing the rule of law and international human rights standards to the benefit of all Nepalis.

They have also urged the Government of Nepal to carry out open, transparent and impartial investigations into all cases of alleged extra-judicial killings in Nepal.
