Stern Action Against Violators Of Rights To Vote

November 9, 2013: Speaking at the 28th Academic Assembly of the Nepal Academy in Kathmandu yesterday, Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has urged the poll-opposing parties including the CPN-Maoist not to hold any activity going against the elections and withdraw different programs including banda and general strike, according to the RSS news on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
Chairman Regmi has made it clear that violating the people's fundamental rights to cast vote does not suit any political parties or a group having political character. He said that the government would take stern actions against those carrying out such activities disturbing law and order, violating the people's voting right and creating obstacles to the elections.
Chairman Regmi also urged all Nepalis to participate in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections without fear as voting would be fully safe.
