Prachanda for Vice-president Jha to Resign

On August 26, 2009, addressing a press meet held by Revolutionary Journalists’ Association, Abadh State Committee in Butwal former Prime Minister Prachanda has advised Vice-president Permananda Jha to resign from the position rather than taking an oath in Nepali; he also has said that he has resigned from the position of Prime Minister after the President directly writing a letter to the Chief of Army staff.
At a meeting with representatives of the Linguistic Rights Joint Struggle Commit, Vice President Jha has said that he would rather resign than retaking an oath in Nepali after the Supreme Court of Nepal has annulled his oath in Hindi. The representatives in turn advised the Vice-president to take an oath in his mother tongue Maithili.
Leaders of the Madheshi political parties have jointly advised the Vice-president not to take an oath of office in Nepali rather resign from the position.
