Foreign Visits Of Madhav Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal

Issue 49, December 05, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 1, 2010: officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has left Kathmandu on November 30 to attend Sixth International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The conference has nothing to do with the national interest of Nepal. Madhav Nepal can attend such a conference at his private capacity but he is using the state treasure for the expenses of his travel and stay there for the period of the conference.
His most pressing task in Nepal is to recommend the President to call a House session immediately but he is not concerned with such a pressing need of the country and he has given the priority to enjoy his foreign holiday trip. So, it is not wonder that Nepalese voters have rejected him at the two constituencies.

House Speaker has called the government to call the House session immediately but the Madhav government has flatly rejected the call of the House Speaker for summoning a House session for resolving the political issues, completing the peace process and the writing of a new constitution. Madhav Nepal himself has waved the call of the House Speaker saying his presence is not necessary for resolving the political issues indicating Nepalis don’t need the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Finance needs to stop releasing any money for his expenses abroad if he does not work for the country as a Prime Minister. The number of days he is going to be out of the country for his pleasure trips should be made the leave without pay. Certainly, his cabinet has approved his foreign trip but it is not enough; he should work for the country not for his own pleasure.

Following the conclusion of ICAPP assembly in Cambodia, Madhav Nepal will fly to Brussels for attending the meeting of Least Developed Countries (LDC) to be held by the European Union (EU) in Brussels and will address the High-level Panel on the Special Challenges of LDC on December 7, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of December 1, 2010 writes.

Thus, Madhav Nepal has not only warm climate holidays in Cambodia but also the cold climate holidays in Brussels at the cost of the poor Nepalis. To have such an idiot as a Prime Minister is really a curse for Nepal that has been poor because of such rulers ruling hundreds of years keeping the common people poor but collecting every possible rupees for their luxurious lives. Thanks to the equally idiotic leaders of all political parties, Madhav Nepal is having good holidays in foreign countries even in the 21st century at the cost of the common folks.

Another idiotic leader Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has left Kathmandu for South Africa on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 to attend another conference. Mr. Khanal has boasted that after his return from abroad, he will be available for working on resolving the political problems although he has never been for resolving the problems but creating more problems. He is the one that has lead the representatives of 18 political parties to the President recommending for the President to abuse the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 for directly writing a letter to the then Chief of Army Staff and save his job on the pretext of the Maoists grabbing the power.

Nepal has entered the 21st century but the Nepalese political leaders have the medieval mindset. So, they cannot work on the consensus politics and they want everything of the political cake for themselves leaving the Nepalis people high and dry. Time will soon come when Nepalis will thrash such idiotic leaders on the streets of Kathmandu for not working for the people.

Due to the foreign trips of the idiotic Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, the important work on resolving the contentious issues of a new constitution, integrating the two armies for completing the peace process, electing a new Prime minister and running the House session have come to the complete halt. What more these so-called leaders can do for the country than these things?
