By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
The Election Commission of Pakistan postponed the general election scheduled for January 08, 2008 to February 18, 2008 saying many election booths were damaged in the violence caused by the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. President Pervez Musharaff endorsed it.
Both the Pakistan People’s Party of assassinated Benazir Bhutto and the Muslim League of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are against the postponement of the election.
It is believed that the party of President Pervez Musharaff will gain from calling off the election.
