Chinese Cultural Festival in Kathmandu

On October 10, 2009, Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong jointly opened the Fourth Chinese Cultural Festival of 2009 in Nepal to mark the 60th anniversary of founding of the People’s Republic of China. The festival will be for six days. The festival will demonstrate the progress made by China in various aspects of the Chinese lives during the last 60 years.

Speaking at the function Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has reiterated the one-China policy of Nepal, appreciated the Chinese assistance to Nepal for socio-economic development and invited the Chinese to invest in Nepal.

The Prime Minister would have been well off sending the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the counterpart to the Chinese ambassador to jointly open the Chinese festival in Nepal to keep the honor of the country and of the position of the Prime Minister.
