By KTM Metro Reporter

August 16, 2011: India is a largest democracy some people used to say but Indian democracy is unique in the sense you have democracy to indulge in corruption but if you try to speak against corruption then you will be chased away by the police.

For example, in the first week of June 2011, the Indian police have chased away Yoga Guru Ramdev and the people from his camp in the Indian capital at midnight. Yoga Guru Ramdev has fasted protesting against the black money and demanding to bring back billions of dollars stashed away in the foreign banks by the Indian politicians and unscrupulous businesspersons and industrialists. The Indian government of Sonia Gandhi and head by so-called clean man Manmohan Singh has shown corruption as one of its attributes.

Today, the Indian police have arrested Anna Hazare that has set to fast unto death protesting against the Anticorruption Bill the government has prepared keeping the prime minister and senior judges above it. The arrest of Anna Hazare has provoked widespread protests in India. Large number of supporters of Anna Hazare has taken out a protest demonstration in Mumbai today.

Some political analysts say that the corrupt politicians and criminals run the Indian democracy. So, almost half of the Indian parliamentarians are with criminal backgrounds and some of them are charged with murder.
