Political Parties Role Vital In Elections

Issue 17, April 28, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

April 24, 2013: speaking at a golden jubilee ceremony of Sharada Higher Secondary School at Those in the Ramechhap district, Minister for Information and Communications also the spokesman for the government Madhav Poudel yesterday said that the role of all political parties was crucial in holding an upcoming election to the Constituent Assembly (CA). “I have taken the dissatisfaction expressed by some agitating political parties as just for protesting about the formation of the present government but were not seen negative for participating in CA polls,” said Minister Poudel, according to ‘gorkhapatraonline’ news of today.

Minister Poudel should know that his main duty was to work on holding elections not to go to the remote district probably on a helicopter at the cost of the taxpayers to attend the golden jubilee of a school and then talked about elections there to school children. He needed to focus on the election-related activities not on something other activities even though he was holding the portfolio of Minister for Education.

Such former bureaucrats put on the ministerial chairs have no rights to squander the state resources engaging in other activities other than the elections. They had been appointed to the members of the Interim Election Council specially for holding elections nothing else. They have been paid from the taxpayers’ money for that purpose. They should mind it.
