Issue 09, February 28, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

February 22, 2010: members of the Legislature Committee on State Affairs have interrogated Prime Minister Madhav Nepal concerning the efficiency of his administration and the vacant positions at four constitutional bodies such as Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority, Auditor General, Public Service Commission and Election Commission.

Madhav Nepal has been Prime Minister for nine months but he has not taken any actions on filling up the vacant positions at these crucial constitutional bodies whereas he has been very smart recruiting the cadres of his party for the vacant positions in the state administration.

So, members of the Legislature Committee on State Affairs have summoned Madhav Nepal for reporting on the state of affairs on filling up the vacant positions at these constitutional bodies. Replying to the questions of the members of the committee, Mr. Nepal has rather requested the cooperation of the members of the committee on this matter.

Concerning the question on importing the arms and ammunition, Mr. Nepal has said that the government has brought in SLR for the police and would bring AK47 according to the news in the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of February 22, 2010.
