Debate Over Sujata Becoming Deputy Prime Minister

On October 13, 2009, Acting President Sushil Koirala has said that the Prime Minister has made Sujata Koirala Deputy Prime Minister without the consent of the Central Working Committee and the Parliamentary Party of Nepali Congress thus bypassing the concerned institution indirectly saying the Prime Minister has acted undemocratically; so, Prime Minister has not been honoring the political institutions. He has also said that neither the Central Working Committee nor the Parliamentary Party of Nepali Congress has approved the making of Sujata Deputy Prime Minister.

On October 13, 2009, attending the office of Deputy Prime Minister, Sujata Koirala has said that all the current leaders including Sushil Koirala and Ram Chandra Poudel have reached the current positions with the blessings of her father Girija Prasad Koirala, so why they have been so fussy about her being Deputy Prime Minister with the blessing of the father.
