Chinese Envoy Wu Chuntai Met With Prachanda

Issue 11, March 17, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

March 13, 2013: Newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai met with Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda at the Lazimpat residence of Chairman Prachanda yesterday, and has had talks about the bilateral relations between the two countries, according to the ‘gorkhapatra’ news of today.

Personal secretary of Chairman Prachanda said that both the Chairman and the ambassador talked about the traditional diplomatic relations both the countries have had, and agreed on strengthening the relations further in the future.

Ambassador Wu had presented his credential to the head of state President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on March 11, 2013.

China has been changing its envoy to Nepal rapidly. The immediate predecessor and the one before him had not completed their terms of office in Nepal. The pervious envoy was replaced with the immediate past one due to his inability to maintain diplomatic advantage, as he could not convinced the then Nepalese administration the need for the crackdown on the Tibetan exiles in Nepal.
