By KTM Metro Reporter

December 18, 2011: a meeting of the leaders of the coalition partners such as UCPN-Maoist and UDMF was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar yesterday to ascertain the delay in enforcing the four-point deal the UCPN-Maoist reached with the UDMF before forming the current coalition government.

Some of the coalition partners belonging to the UDMF have been worried about the delay in enforcing the four-point deal. So, they have been airing that such a delay would hurt the coalition government and it might even break down.

After the meeting, chairman of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Ganatantrik and Information and Communications Minister Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta informed that the UCPN-Maoist expressed its commitment to implement the pact, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes. "The implementation of the deal was delayed over the past few days and it had worried the Madhesi Front. But today, Maoists have given us a reassurance that they will work to implement the accord," ‘The Rising Nepal’ quotes the minister. “The Rising Nepal’ quoted the minister that the UCPN-Maoist had agreed to initiate the process to form a separate special unit in the Nepal Army to allow the group entry of Madhesi youths in the army.

The Madheshi leaders were happy at the assurances given by the UCPN-Maoist leaders of enforcing the four-point deal and they believed that the meeting held yesterday has further strengthened the coalition with the UCPN-Maoist.
