Nepalis Need To Learn From President Obama

Issue 27, July 04, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

June 28, 2010: President Barack Obama has fired Gen. Stanley McChrystal commanding the US and NATO Military operations in Afghanistan for his controversial public talks that have gone against the Whitehouse officials and appointed Petraeus in his place.

Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has awarded the retired Chief of Army Staff Rukmangud Katuwal with honors on the Republic Day of 2010. Katuwal was implicated in suppressing the people’s movement in 2006. He had made a number of political comments that went against the newly set-up Republic of Nepal.

Former Prime Minister Prachanda had attempted to take actions against the undisciplined Chief of Army Staff Katuwal but President Ram Baran Yadav acting against the democratic values and norms and the rule of law saved the job of Mr. Katuwal causing the current political deadlock.
