Chairman Khilraj Regmi Urging Adhikari Coupe To Break Their Fasting

August 30, 2013: Father Nanda Prasad Adhikari and mother Ganga Maya Adhikari have been fasting demanding to bring the perpetrators of murder of their son Krishna Prasad Adhikari during the Maoists fighting against the State. National Human Rights Commission has made recommendations to the government for bringing the perpetrators of murder to justice. The Maoists have been telling that the killing of Krishna Prasad Adhikari is the conflict era case that a special truth commission should take it not the regular legal process.

 

Yesterday, Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi went to the State Bir Hospital where the Adhikari couple has been kept for treatment, and urged the couple to break the fasting and save their lives, as the government has already started off the legal process for bringing the perpetrators of murder of their son to justice, according to the news in ‘gorkhaaptra’ of today.

 

Previously, Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Health Minister Bidhyadhar Mallik, and Peace and Reconstruction Minister Ram Kumar Shrestha had visited the Adhikari couple and urged the couple to break the fasting.

 

The office of the council of ministers has stated that the government has started off a legal procedure following the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission, and has already taken the statements from the 14 persons related to the incident, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
