Trio of Sher, Sushil and Ram Chandra Bidding For Power

Issue 13, March 28, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

March 25, 2010: three persons such as Sher Bahadur Deuba, Sushil Koirala and Ram Chandra Poudel have emerged as the potential leaders for navigating the Nepali Congress (NC) to a correct direction.

Deuba claims that he has been Prime Minster for more than one term, and late Girija Prasad Koirala has accepted him as a senior most among the NC leaders; so he should get the position of the President of the NC.

Sushil Koirala claims that late Girija Prasad Koirala has asked him to stay on the Acting President of the NC; so he is continuing as the Acting President.

Ram Chandra Poudel believes that he is the elected parliamentary leader of the NC parliamentary party; so he claims for the leadership of the NC.

If the NC is a democratic party, immediately, they need to hold elections for the party presidency and other positions rather than claiming the inheritance. NC leaders will make their party strong only following its statute rather than following the influential leaders.
