Nepal Top Trade Partner Of Tibet

February 27, 2011: China.org.cn has today reported that Nepal has continued to be the Tibet's top trade partner, as the 90.2 percent of the Tibetan trade is with Nepal. The trade amount has reached 59.67 million U.S. dollars out of the total foreign trade of 87.66 million U.S. dollars in January according to the local customs of the Tibetan autonomous region in southwest China. The monthly total included 81.72 million U.S. dollars of exports, up by 57.8 percent. Nepal has remained the top trade partner of Tibet since 2001. Last year, bilateral trade between Tibet and Nepal stood at 542 million U.S. dollars, up by 65 percent over the previous year.
