CPN-UML Continue Its Stand On Consensus Politics

December 15, 2010: Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has said on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 that his party will continue its stand on the consensus politics, and will not support any kinds of majority government in view of the failure of the majority government led by his colleague Madhav Nepal in doing anything concrete to completing the peace process and the writing of a new constitution; however, some of his party colleagues have been considering to join a majority government if the consensus politics fails, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of December 15, 2010 writes.
At the same time, central committee members of CPN-UML have said that the CPN-UML needs to present its clear stand on the prime ministerial candidacy of Ram Chandra Poudel at the House session. Some of them have emphasized the need for breaking the current political deadlock. However, officiating Prime Minister has cautioned that the CPN-UML might need to face the challenges in the special House session to be started on December 19, 2010.
